Mokelumne River Ranch Equestrian Center

http://mokelumneriverranch.com
The above slide show features pictures from around the ranch.

Mokelumne River Ranch Equestrian Center is a 60 acre equestrian facility located about 15 minutes South of Sacramento in the quaint town of Thornton, California.  The ranch is located along the Mokelumne river near where it joins the Cosumnes river, on the way to the California delta.  Click on the directions link above to see a map.

The ranch features a large covered arena, a regulation dressage arena, an obstacle arena with cavalletti and miles of cross country trails.  Because of the ranch's proximity to the river boarders are able to ride on the levee and around neighboring vineyards.  Beyond the ranch there are miles and miles of trails which have been available to local horseback riders for many years.
Boarding rates vary according to location throughout the ranch and which services the boarder wants.  For more information click on the boarding link above.

The ranch does NOT have a resident trainer, which is good news for some and bad news for others.  Boarders are encouraged to invite the trainer of their choice to the ranch to give them a lesson - there is no extra charge.

Trailer-ins are encouraged.  The fee of $10 per horse includes the use of all arenas and facilities.

Please explore details about the ranch by clicking on the links in the menu above.

Friday January 22, 2010

Friday night was Carol's birthday so a few of us gathered around the campfire and enjoyed each other's company.

The clouds parted on the way out so I HAD to snap a picture of mount Diablo with a "hat".

After we went through the pot luck food we sat around and told stories.

There are a few additional pictures in the January scrapbook.

John has added a Schedule E to the boarding agreement.  It details costs for damages our horses might do.
