“A Place to Ride, Relax, Enjoy, and Spend Quality Time with Your Horse”!
History:
Mokelumne River Ranch was purchased in 1988 as distressed Farm Land. It
was then cleared and developed as a “Rare Breed Conservancy” for
“Primitive and Endangered” breeds of Domestic Livestock, “Sheep, Goats,
Pigs, & Cattle”. The owners developed this project for just over
eleven years. At one time the Ranch had the largest collection of these
Endangered Breeds anywhere on the North American Continent!
Finances, the Market, and the Work involved, forced the closure and
sale of the project.
For the next six years the Ranch was leased out
to several “Horse Trainers, Breeders, and Horse Dealers”, some good,
some bad! The Ranch fell into huge disrepair! The owners then decided
to move back, installed a new home, and began rebuilding the Ranch to
accommodate the Equestrian Community. Many, many, improvements have
been made over the past few years and many more are being planned!
Several more “failed attempts” were made at finding the right
“Horse-Person” to manage and run the Facility! In March of 2008, the
owners found it necessary to develop the Boarding Service on their own
in order to provide the “quality of service” in mind.
Philosophy and Development:
The Ranch is being developed to accommodate both “English & Western” Disciplines in Riding.
We will cater to those that like to “Ride and spend Quality Time” with their Horse!
We will not promote competition between Riders!
This will be a place to “Learn, Train, Ride, Relax, & Enjoy”!
Non-Resident Trainers will be welcome!
Rudeness and Disrespect to others will not be tolerated!
We
will not offer fully enclosed, gloomy, dark Stalls of “any size”, as we
believe that this is a major cause of “cribbing” and other bad habits!
For a number of reasons, we will not offer large open pastures for a multitude of Horses!
“Feeding
Issues”, (Weight Control)! “Social Issues”, (Dominance, Fighting,
Kicking, Biting, Etc.), and people also tend to “Dump-em” &
“Forget-em”!
Pasture Horses are also harder to catch & usually harder to control when taken away from the herd!
Our Stalls will be large 12’x 12’, 12’x 14’, and 12’x 20’! They will have good Air Circulation!
All Stalls will be Well Drained, Rubber Matted, & have Automatic Waters!
Our “adjoining” Paddocks or Runs will be large 12’x 36’, 18’x 36’, 24’x 72’, & 24’x 84’!
The Paddocks will be Well Drained, Gravel & Sand, & enclosed with safe Pipe Rail Fencing!
All Horses will have access to adjoining, large, Irrigated Pastures!
Your Horse will never be “over-crowded” or put with “non-compatible” horses!
We
also have large “Two-Horse” Paddocks, 48’x 48’, Well-Drained, Sand
& Gravel, with Safe, Pipe Rail Fencing! These Paddocks have a large
12’x 24’ Semi-Enclosed Shelter, Well Drained, Rubber Matted, with a
large automatic watering tub!
These Paddocks also have a large Irrigated Pasture/Turn-Out!
All
Horses are “Properly Fed”, every AM & PM with Top Quality
“Grass/Alfalfa” Hay, or any other “available” hay, of Owner’s choice!
All Horses are provided with Clean Fresh Water at all times, and Mineralized Salt Blocks are in their Stalls!
All Stalls, Paddocks, or Runs, are “cleaned daily”! Pastures are “cleaned twice each week”!
We
“offer” an “All-Natural”, feed through, Colic Prevention, Parasite,
& Fly Control Program, that includes fourteen (14) trace minerals!
USDA & FDA approved, completely safe, with no known side effects!
We use “Fossil Shell Flour” (DE). This program enhances the entire
digestive system and overall health of each animal!
This service is provided “Free of Charge” to all Boarders!
This service is provided “only at the Horse Owners request”!
All Boarding includes:

pre-bagged supplements! Clean Restrooms! Trailer Storage! &
24/7 On-site Security!
We offer a “Huge” 150’x 150’, Well-Lit, Covered Arena! (Night Riding, till 10PM)!
A Beautiful, Regulation Size Dressage Training Court!
A Large 60’ Round Pen! A 150’x 200’ Riding Arena (being relocated)!
A Beautiful River Front Riding Trail! Picnic Sites and Camping!
Monthly Bar-B-Ques/Pot-Lucks, Play-Days, or Trail Rides!
We’re
developing a series of Cavalletti Training Courts, at least one more
60’ Round Pen, and a “Lengthy” Western Trail Training & Obstacle
Course, with Cross-Country and Three Day Eventing Jumps & Obstacles
included! All usable as it is being developed!
